We had a great turn out from our new memebrs for the reading of Papa Panov.
The play has now been cast with at least 5 new members taking part.
The play Papa Panov centres around an old shoemaker who dreamt that Jesus will visit him on Christmas Day. All day long he waits but the only visitors are a tramp, a roadsweeper and a woman with a baby. Selflessly he gives them his coat, his money and his soup. He falls asleep in the evening tired, ridiculed and disappointed.
He has another dream in which it appears that his special visitor did come after all.....
This adaptation of a story by Leo Tolstoy, narrated by a storyteller and is a perfect play for Christmas.
